My boy and his miniboo…

*I’ll be uploading my Instagram posts from our time in NICU, followed by a more recent picture of Rex, so you’ll be able to see the difference and keep-up with our journey*

Still on a ventilator here, and so tiny!

“Here’s Rex with one of his @cuski_baby Miniboos ♥️ we were given two of the soft, fabric little figures so that we can rotate them. Rex has one to cuddle, I take one home and sleep with it next to my skin, and then we swap. Rex is comforted by my scent in his incubator, and the smell of my boy helps me express milk when I’m away from him – it also makes me super drowsy.

We’ve been doing the same with muslins too so that both mom and dad can get in on the action. He always gets to sleep surrounded by a comforting smell 💕😴 I’ve learnt so much this week about how nature works, and how we can bond with our boy in different ways.

It’s so hard not being able to have him with me all the time, and when I see him, all I long to do is scoop him up in my arms; it’s actually painful that I can’t. Heartache is overwhelmingly physical at times. So, I love the fact that there are things we can do to ensure he knows he’s safe, loved, and he has plenty of comforting familiarity in his life already x”

He’s capable of a much bigger cuddle now! He’s always been brilliant at them though x

Peace, love, and bear hugs, Fay x
