And, just like that…

*I’ll be uploading my Instagram posts from our time in NICU, followed by a more recent picture of Rex, so you’ll be able to see the difference*

Looking back at this gives me chills for all sorts of reasons. The first hug with Rex was so precious, but seeing how fragile he was, breaks my heart.

“And just like that, everything changed! ♥️ I’d like to introduce my beautiful boy, Rex Frankie. I’m in love. He decided to arrive very early at 28 wks + 4, on 29/04/19. He weighed 2lb 7oz, so he’ll be staying in the NICU for a while, until he’s ready to come home.

As you can imagine, it’s been a challenging time so far. However, I got this yesterday; my first cuddle, and I can honestly say it was the best moment of my whole life to date. We had a good hour of skin to skin, and I’ll be heading back for more today.

Life is pretty much focused around the incredible NICU in Bristol at the moment, along with expressing (although, this basically means being milked 🐄) every few hours, and choosing what stories to read my boy each day. Everything in between is food or sleep related.

So, I’ll be sharing what and when I have the strength to, so that I can look back on things, and, you know me, I always feel better after documenting life 😊

This cuddle gave me so much yesterday. I know the road ahead is going to be bumpy, but I really needed this boost, and it was perfect; much like my Rex.

Happy Sunday x”

Now, I get to cuddle him whenever I want. There are no wires or tubes to worry about, there are no alarms ringing throughout our time together. We’ve been home nearly 3 weeks, and picking him up is still a novelty! I kiss these tiny cheeks all the time x

Peace, love, and cuddles for all, Fay x
