#BRUMBLOGMAS Day 04: Favourite festive film

I just couldn’t pick a favourite film for this prompt; there are so many. My tastes firmly sit in the 80s and early 90s when it comes to preference of festive films. However, I even love those horrendous Channel 5, made-for-TV movies. They’re always set in a town that is obsessed with Christmas, there’s an “unlikely” love match, wise older town residents, and cute kids that notice the love story evolving before anyone else. They are great. Horrifically awful, but great.

Therefore, I thought I’d pop in my favourite film of all time. I watch it a lot over autumn and winter because it makes me feel warm, fuzzy, and festive. It also stars my favourite actor of all time too. It’s Uncle Buck. There’s nothing I don’t like about this film, and I think it’s one of John Candy’s best performances ever, although, he’s amazing in most of his roles. The humour, the fashion, the 80s/90s East (ish) Coast suburban vibes, the music; the whole thing makes me so happy. Also, the love story between Buck and Chanice is so underrated, and should be up there in movie, love story history.

Most John Hughes films are brilliant, but Uncle Buck is by far the best.

Best. Film. Ever.

Peace, love, and warm fuzzies, Fay x
