“Rex is starting to spend more time off his cpap, or breathing assistance. It’s both magical and terrifying for me. It’s definitely a case of slow and steady, much like NICU in general
Obviously, I cannot wait for him to be ready for us to bring home. But, the main thing is that he’s strong and healthy, no matter how long it takes
He’ll do some more time without his mask today, and we can time it so that I can get to cuddle him at the same time
So, I’ll get to look in detail at his dreamy little cheeks, and his ever-changing features. I also get to kiss the top of his head 🥰
I basically spend the whole time trying not to totally inhale him. These moments are as perfect as it gets for now, and I adore them; whether he’s wearing his mask or not ♥️ I will never take scooping him up in my arms, whenever I want, for granted
Our long weekend will consist of more of the same, and his dad can get in on the action too. We are also registering him, so it’s going to be a special day tomorrow. I hope you get to hang out with your faves, this bank holiday Big love
